Join Our Journey
My name is Jamie LeJeune. I departed with my friends Kim and Kelly for Ukraine on July 29, 2001 to begin my adoption quest. I never thought my dream would be realized when after a year of ABSOLUTELY NO RESULTS, many excuses, and thousands of dollars, I fired my adoption lawyer. I began searching alternative ways of adopting internationally and found Cathy Harris and a wonderful group of supportive parents that had adopted independently! This group is tremendously dedicated to the orphaned children of Ukraine. Now, just a few short months later, I have returned from my long-awaited journey with friends in tow to bring my beautiful waiting children,Maria Olivia and Elijah Adalbert, home.
Explore my site!!
When you view the "About" page, you can read my adoption story. On the "Photo" page (the first one), there will be pictures taken in Ukraine. Some are of the orphanage. Others are of the Transcarpathian Region and the wonderful new friends we made along the way. The "What's New" page will hold update on my children's progress after we return home. The "Contact Me" page is very important. It contains a link to my personal message board and a link to e-mail me if you have questions about my adoption. I would like to give a special thanks from Kelly, Kim and me to those of you who left messages on the message board while we were in Ukraine!! We so appreciated the support from home. The messages have been copied and saved for my children's baby books. Under "Favorite Links" you will find several websites that will help you learn more about Independent adoption from Ukraine. Any other photo and custom pages will offer pictures of Eli and Maria since we have been home. Enjoy the site!!
Welcome To My Home Page
Follow our journey as I travel to adopt one or two children from an orphanage in Ukraine. I made the decision to adopt independently in February, 2001. Although adopting independently seemed intimidating at first, I am amazed at how simple the process has been and how easily things fell into place. Of course, with the help of Independent Ukraine Adoption Family Network (IUAFN), I have benefited from the support and experience of several hundered adoptive parents who have gone before me. These parents VOLUNTEER their time to help others adopt because they are concerned and dedicated to the orphaned children left behind in Ukraine.
